This is our fifteenth year of this wonderful event! While there have been several changes in the way things operate over those years, the core of WriYe has always remained the same: write all year and make new friends doing so. So, once you've decided how much you want to write in 2018 and have signed up for a goal, introduce yourself here and get to know each other. Say whatever you would like (however much or however little), and have a great time.
I'm Roisin and I'm one of your friendly neighborhood mods. I've been at WriYe since 2009. I live in the Seattle area, have three cats and two corgis and work as a chef. I also like to dabble in photography.
I tend to focus on realistic/mainstream fiction that deals with the wonders and messiness of families and the relationships within them.

Hello everyone! My name is Tracey. I don't know how long I've been doing WriYe but I know it's been a few years. I work as a night lead teacher in a daycare and I'm working on getting my degree in Early Childhood Education. My main writing genres are Fantasy and Science Fiction but I like to try other genres as well.

Hi everyone. My name is Emmy. I'm a newb (I've been doing WriYe-like things in previous years elsewhere, but not officially a part of this community). I figure doubling up accountability locales for my writing is a good thing.)
I write a little bit of everything though one of my niches seems to be writing around mental health recovery in fiction across all genres haha.

Hi! In Real Life I'm an actor / stage manager called Dianne - though I'm known pretty much universally online as IchthusFish. Trying to get back to writing after a Real Life break, and WriYe looks like a good jumping off point for 2018. I first did a WriYe in 2008, when I wrote about 765k... but planning on a more sedate writing pace this time around :-) My main genres are Sci-Fi / Fantasy and Humour.

I'm Crystal and according to my thread count it looks like this is my 8th attempt at WriYe, wow. All the rest have been failures but I'm determined to make some publishing progress this year so I'm going to do much better than in years previous as best I can. I'm furmom to three Great Danes, a German Shepherd, and a Great Dane/German Shepherd mix.
I mainly stick to fantasy, usually young/new adult of various sorts, but sometimes I venture into some soft sci-fi.

Hey everyone! I'm Erica. This is *not* my first time trying but I'm hoping I'll actually, like, try this time around. I'm in my last year of law school and I miss writing. I did this past NaNo and it was wonderful to write again. I'm probably gonna work on my NaNo project (it went in a wayyy different direction than I'd thought, so maybe I should figure that out), some other ideas I've had floating around, hopefully short stories, maybe even a law review article.
Hello all! I'm Holli and I'm hoping to get a lot of projects done during this challenge. One major part is a wish to make an extremely stubborn novel become less so and to play nice (*breaks out whip and chair*). I mainly write in paranormal and futuristic romances, but am also experimenting with YA and military sci-fi.
Hi, everyone! I'm Jess, and am part of the mod team here at HQ. I've been at WriYe since December 2012, my first year doing NaNo. My favorite thing about writing is I'm not confined to a single genre, but can connect them, creating a whole new way of looking at a story. That's the beauty of writing.
In the real world I live in Central Arkansas with my guy, work for a large book retailer and have pets: 1 cat and about a thousand fish. Not really a thousand, but it feels that way.
Currently I have over a dozen projects in various stages. Some are a single sentence, while others are nearly complete in first draft or in editing.
I can't wait to meet everyone throughout the year. Welcome to the "new kids"!
Hello, everyone! I'm Dagny, and this is my first year doing anything like setting a goal within a timeframe outside of NaNoWriMo. I've written sporadically for years, but I'm at the point now where I want to make it a habit and setting myself a goal seems like the best way to do it, especially when my schedule is decently flexible at the moment (I work for a software company).
I have three main projects going in wildly different directions, plus very rough notes on a fourth. I'll probably hop between them through the year.

Hi everyone! This is technically my third (ish) WriYe; my first one was 2015 (very nice) and my second, although quite short-lived one 2016 (not nice). I had to take some time off writing because of real life and mental health issues, but after easing back into nano this november, I'm really looking forward to at least trying to write year-round again. We'll see how it goes!
