we have a new layout / skin! if you're reading this, you've probably already realized that. you have the option to change back to many of our previous skins at any time through your profile settings, if you prefer.
it's time for wriye 2021! if you're new here, or returning and would like a refresher, make sure to check out the wriye 2021 information post to get started!
we are very happy you are here and can't wait to write (and edit!) words with you in 2021.
hello, and welcome to wriye: the year-long writing community born out of a dual love of writing lots of words and organized challenges. if you are planning on writing -- or editing -- at all this year, we'd love for you to join our community! there's no goal too large or too small; we believe that all words are good words here and will always encourage everyone, no matter their goal. if you're looking for a group of writers to support you along your own writing-journey, this is the place for you.
We all write in different genres. If we all wrote one, we'd have a very boring reading existence. So here's your place to chat about it.
Feel free to make threads about any genre/subgenre your heart desires. This isn't a mod-only forum and it'll be redundant if we see our names starting all the threads. Just a few rules, though, so we're all getting along:
Start your thread with "[GenreTopic] Words Here". This makes it easier to find what genre topic we're looking at.
Do not mock other genres. That is not all right. I've never seen this problem, so I'm not worried, but I do not want to have to put my cyclopean foot down on your faces. (Yes, I took that from 2010.)
Even if you think you're writing an odd genre that no one else likes, you can post a thread. Who knows? You may attract others!
Have fun, fellers, and keep the activity up. Or else the Necromancy Unit will have to emerge again.
