Hello ! I'm Dealia (or chigaimasu in Discord). Like Sumi B I'm French, it's her who told me about WriYe and here I am This is my first WriYe and 2019 was my first participation on NanoWrimo too so I'm pretty new. It's also my first time writing English in a forum (sorry for the mistake so!) I write mainly Young Adult novels and this year I want to try fantasy with a new projet and correct my first draft of my Young Adult novel (and finish my Nano novel). I hope this WriYe will help me to keep my motivation In real life, I'm a psychology student and I love writing, reading and watching series
Hello ! I'm Sashagrid. It's a joke with my firstname (Sasha). I'm French too, like Sumi. It's her who gave me the link of this forum. I don't speak and write English very well, sorry, I'm quite bad in English at school ^^ I'm 16, I'm in the 11th grade, and I'm a girl with Asperger. My specifical's interests are (they are not all here, it's very long ^^) Louis XIV, Harry Potter, firstnames, theater, Romeo and Juliet, study guidance, latin, name researchs in medieval time etc.
I write since five years, and this year, I want to finish my Young adult novel with a lot (so much) characters, and to finish my other novel that I began in 2015. It's an historic novel with a lot of characters too ^^
Hi, I'm clarenet (smile_clarenet on Discord, generally known as smile over there). This is my second year of WriYe, though I'm pulling back on the writing goals this year in favour of making more of an effort with my reading. I've got a couple of overhauls planned for the year, and a bit of editing.
Having a community of so many supportive writers was fantastic last year, and really helped me to get back into writing. I'm looking forward to getting to know a few more writers this year.
In terms of hobbies, I'm a church bell ringer, love the outdoors (hiking/cycling/camping), and crafty (knitting/crocheting/sewing).

Greetings from Maine! I must have been living under a rock, because I just heard about WriYe TODAY! I have participated and won a couple Nanos since I joined there in 2009 I believe. I love the atmosphere and companionship that accompanies Nano. So imagine my giddiness when a friend mentioned WriYe.
In real life I am a 48 year old wife, medically retired firefighter, full time Mammi to two of my four wonderful grandchildren. I have a craft page that I am starting with two of my adult daughters. I crochet, CrossStitch, do plastic canvas, machine embroider, and I just got a Cricut for Christmas that I cannot wait to use. It is wonderful to be here!
I just realized that in my excitement of the board reset, I totally forgot to introduce myself! This is my sixth year with Wriye and I had a wonderful 2019! I managed to finish three novels that I had previously started and am thrilled to have finally finished them! I am taking the same approach this year as last, since it was so successful, with a goal to finish five first drafts this year (though I'd be totally happy with two or three), among other goals.
I am a mother of a wonderfully creative seven year old, and wife to an amazing husband. We live outside a little town in our dream home on our dream property, and you will likely hear me complain about how awful our internet it! My house is a little chaotic as we have two elderly cats, a two year old Shih Tzu and recently added a Shih Tzu puppy! (As we could not let Chase be a deadbeat dad and not take in at least one of his puppies!!) Between the pets and my energetic son, this place gets pretty crazy! I love early mornings before everyone is awake, and the evenings when everyone has gone to sleep, as I can't concentrate too well in between!
I've been writing since I was my son's age and I write Science Fiction, Horror and Fantasy. (Or as I usually say, all the cool stuff) I have a science fiction series called Chaotic Galaxies, that I am SLOWLY working on getting Self Published and am constantly at odds with the editing that I have to do in order to do so. Editing is my biggest difficulty as a writer, as I will usually do anything to avoid it. I'm a bit on the silly side and play WAY too many video games! I work a seasonal job so I tend to vanish in the summers.
I am super active on Discord, so feel free to stop by and say Hi! All you have to do is mention badges or word sprints and I usually materialize!

Hello, everyone! I'm Rosebug and this is my first year attempting WriYe. I've tried Nano on and off for more than a decade, and have won less than half the time.
I like to write fantasy, though it can get pretty scientific and complicated. As long as it doesn't get to close to reality, I love to write it and read it. However, I've never had the discipline or motivation to complete a story. My main goal for this long term challenge is to maintain discipline long enough for a story to materialize and be completed.
Contradictorily, I don't plan to ever publish. My drive to write has always been because I wanted to read certain stories and had trouble finding them. Perhaps I will change my mind if my writing improves later, but for now, I write for the sake of writing.
Thank you for welcoming me into your community! I plan on making this a good year!
i'm erin, one of the mods here who is returning to mod-ship after a few year hiatus to get my real life in order. now that i think i've managed that as much as humanly possible (because are we ever really in a perfect place??), i'm returning to wriye 100%. i'm especially working on publication over anything this year, but still want to write 200k and edit a ton. the trifecta of writing!
as for who i am, i'm a high school english teacher in central florida with two doggos and no kids (by choice... unless you're calling my boyfriend my kid haha). i mostly write romance of some sort and tend to stick with my always-growing SUDS, lazy tequila afternoons. i go into way more detail in my prog thread (linked in my sig!) and am super excited to see everyone's 2020 plans and progress!
Hello! I'm Hamilcar B. (B is for Bonara and it's a joke) but you can call me Ham. I'm French and Sumi B. did a great job of promoting WriYe because she told me about it and I'm not the first one as I can see I'm almost an author/writer and draftsman (more roughts than drawings, actually) who still think he could illustrate his fictions despite his total failure with a pencil. As any good writer, I have a cat named Wilhelmina who is the most adorable thing I have in my life.
I'm working on 2 main novels since 2006 and 2015 (oh my, I'm feeling so old right now )
The first one is a fantasy saga codenamed LSD, stands for "Le Septième Dragon" (... "the seventh dragon" ?) (the codename is also a joke, sorry), about a dragon who want to destroy humanity. It's most worldbuilding than writing actually, but I'm still working on it and I love this universe. I have some pieces of plot but no idea about the whole structure. (*sigh* )
The second one is a urban fantasy series with more romance and school stuffs than fantasy (*cough* ) codenamed EC for "Être l'Élu, ça craint" (you can translate it as "Being the chosen one sucks"), and basically, it is the story of the chosen-one who must save the world but doesn't want to.
I have also a lot of one-shots and novellas about various themes in various genres, but minor things.
It's my first WriYe and I want 2020 to be a writing and finish-what-you-start-damnit year. (I hope so anyway...)

Hello everyone, I am Lucretia, I come from the French speaking part of Belgium. (I am sure that now you know exactly who brought me here, so I am not going to say it again 😝). I mostly write erotica and romance. I am a short stories writer who would love to be able to write novels and that is why I am here! My other challenge for 2020 will be to write at least one text/short story in both Dutch and English.
I look forward to this year and to speak with you about writing. 😊
Hi peoples. I'm Tiffany. In various writing forums I go by RedAngel. I've been doing this for a few years. I start off strong during the beginning of the year, fade away and come back usually around October. I participate in NaNoWrimo and the camps. With the hope of Discord I'll be around more. At least I tell myself every year. This year I've got a bit of things on my plate that I have plans on doing including editing a lot.
I have a couple kiddos and animals. I work from home for now. I just picked up crocheting. I don't think it's going to amount to much but it's been fun trying to figure it out. I'm been trying to get back into the habit of cooking. I love the idea of cooking but I just can't always convince myself to cook things.
I have a rather lofty writing goal this year but it includes two rewrites and two new novels in a trilogy I started last NaNo. Plus I have a goal to write six fan fictions under 5k each. I struggle with writing decent short stories figured I would try to work on those.
Post by Arden Corvidae on Dec 30, 2019 11:30:29 GMT -5
Hey y'all! My name is Arden! I'm a non-binary writer that lives in the Southwestern US with my lovely partner. (he/him or they/them pronouns please.) 2020 will be my 8th year participating in WriYe. (Where does time go?) And I've been participating in NaNoWriMo and Camp NaNoWriMo since 2012.I've been writing for as long as I could hold a pen. I love writing sci-fi, romance, fanfiction, and fantasy. Pretty much all of my stories feature queer characters and focuses on them. I love a good apocalypse or post apocalypse. I'm pretty active over on the Discord. My stories tend to be long winded and in universes of my own creation. (Don't get me started on World building and world building templates, I won't shut up lol)
When I'm not writing I'm usually spending time with my partner, playing video games, creating art, blogging, or reading. I look forward to writing all the words!
"From where you're kneeling, it must seem like an 18-carat run of bad luck. Truth is... the game was rigged from the start."
My name is Gemma and I've been a participant in Nanowrimo from 2014-2018 and Camp Nanowrimo from 2014-2019. Instead of joining Nanowrimo this year, I decided to write on my own and finished up my 50,000 words very late (as usual). I live on the outskirts of Boston, MA with my husband and 2 daughters who are 18 & 14 years old. I like reading, crosstitch and other crafty stuff.
I used to write a lot of historical and mainstream fiction, but have recently turned to fantasy, which I have found to be a lot of fun. My latest project is about a young lady, who's also a werewolf who runs off with a young man who is a vampire. I don't know if I want to continue that this year or start another story that is inspired by Greek Mythology. We'll have to see.
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know all of you.
Hey there! My name is Bridgette (Lhexra is my Everquest character) but Lhexra or even "HEY LADY" works just fine. This is my first year here but not my first time attempting any kind of writing challenge (I've won quite a few). I really like horror novels. I just really like them, don't ask me why. I'm also kind of nuts, not only because I write horror novels during the witching hour, but also because I'm attempting one million words this year. I was curious about Milwordy but they don't really have a proper following so now I'm here.
Am I crazy?
If anyone ever wants to chat I'm usually around, just a little awkward. Say hi to me please.
Hey! I'm Tracey and I joined back in 2010. I usually write adult fantasy and science fiction but I like to branch out from time to time. Currently, I'm a preschool teacher in a daycare but I plan on moving later in the year so that might change.
(I really have nothing to say about myself. Sorry!)
I`m Kinz, my favorite genres to write would be historical fiction, speculative, and fantasy. With some personal essay stuff in there as well. I`ve always been a writer but I`ve also always had the curse of the unproductive scatterbrained artist. Many a failed Nano and many an unfinished project. Why i`m I doing Wriye? Well....and there`s no hyperbole here....my mothers kinda fallen in with what is basically a....internet group of alt-right doomsday conspiracy theorists....it`s a lot. According to them 2020 marks the beginning of the last three years on earth before the rapture. I don`t believe that necessarily but it`s a hell of a way to think about the new year. If these are the last three years we have what do you want to do with them? Inspired me to try and make a couple changes in the new year. One of which being working on writing more seriously and actually finishing ...something.
By day I work in housekeeping at a hotel...which some days I don't mind it others I hate it. More often stuck somewhere in the middle of the two. I also caretake what I call my misfits, stray cats I`ve picked up along the way. I`ve never gone out looking for a cat but somehow the weirdest ones always end up finding there a way to my doorstep.
My goal for the year is like above really just get started on the writing journey. I want to write some things for Medium while working towards certain monthly goals of my own outside of that. Januarys being a little out of my normal comfort zone and poetry based.
