I chose to write a Space Opera this time, which is something I've never done. Sci-fi and I never really mesh, especially the more space-faring sort. Which makes little sense to me, an epic fantasy writer, who should be able to enjoy the epic scale of a space adventure. (I think it's because I get sucked into research black holes.) I figured that since SF/F goes together nicely, I could take the plunge.
I finished the challenge in July/August with my novel The Final Unicorn. I did more research than I expected I would (which is never a bad thing) and I really did enjoy writing it.
I planned a novel and got a novel I just wish it didn't hit 131k. I suppose that is space opera length though, haha.
