I've been told 'sex sells', and this is another chance to find out how true the statement might be. I don't think it is; my books are full of it, and the only ones which have sold are the ones I have sold directly to people. But maybe this will be the place to prove me wrong.
I've been writing an erotica series, but I haven't finished them all, polished them, and gotten them published yet. I intend(ed) to before the end of the year, but it's been that sort of crazy year. At latest, I am hoping first book goes out in January.
I think erotica has the potential to do very well (and have heard success stories abound) but there seems to be a good deal of luck that goes with it. I have to do some more market research to be most current on what's selling!

That sounds like it might be a good idea for me too... after all, I frequently wonder what would happen if I wrote something with absolutely NO sex in it at all. Probably nothing, the same as what happens with my most erotic stories.

That's a good question. I would think it is mostly the non sex scenes which is the higher number of scenes, as compared to the sex scenes. Probably something like 5:1-- the 5 being the non, and the one being the sex scene.
