Bringing back an oldie but goodie here, Show Us Your Shorts used to coincide with the used to be annual AugNoWriMo Anthology. It focuses on writing short stories in the month of August. Short stories are an important part of writing. They help teach you how to give meaning to every word, how to fit in a complete plot -- including backstory! -- into a shorter time, and develop your characters to be as interesting and detailed as you would do in a piece that is sometimes ten times longer! In order to help us all tighten our words and hone our craft, we will try our hands at writing short stories in August. Sign up below for how many you would like to write during the month and report back as you finish. The only rules are that they have to be a minimum of 1,000 Words. Once you have written one, feel free to post in the Read Me, Feed Me section (or elsewhere), and share links to your shorts! Please be sure to quote the most recent post, removing the quote tags. Add your name under your goal, but please keep it alphabetical within each word count goal.
