This is my first time trying WriYe, and I'm probably going to do it with a somewhat... rebellious approach, because I don't actually have goals for the year.
Well, I do! But I'm pushing them firmly somewhere into the back of my head. There's the word count I want to reach over the year, the drafts I want to edit, even publishing plans. But when I think about that big, year-worthy mass of goals, my mind goes blank, even though I know they're fully achievable. When I focus on things that are right in front of me, progress happens.
This is officially going to be a year of Taking Things One Step at a Time for me.
So, in line with that, instead of making big, long-term to-do lists in broad strokes, I'll be frequently updating with granular, short-term goals, never looking further into the future than a week. The future isn't going anywhere, I have time to reach it.
Also, a warning: I have unhealthy numbers of WIPs going on at the same time. That's why I don't finish things all that often, despite being a pretty high-output writer.
How the Last Batch of Goals Went
The week was kind of hell, with a big family emergency going on. Both of my parents are in the hospital right now because of Covid, I'm in a different city mostly relying on my aunt for news, and those news come with unhealthy side helpings of "it's all your fault that this is happening," and most of the time I'm too stressed for anything. I don't even have the spoons for a separate comment about my progress or answering the comments in the thread, I'm just here updating the OP.

— Only 2K
3K+ for Coffee at Midnight—Did even more than that, so that's good
HE TWINE THING, stop neglecting the Twine thing so much, what is happening!— Some new quest descriptions, recalculated the balance for quests. Not much progress, but let's say it counts. Pull together the notes from this weekend's session zero for a VtR game, start writing up plans for the campaign (it involves writing and storytelling, so it counts as a writing goal)— The only thing that went entirely according to plan.
I've also kind of overhauled the worldbuilding for Coffee at Midnight, which led to a lot of extensive note-making and some snippets for further in the draft. (Chronological writing is for less chaotic people.) And I wrote a new scene for More Than We'll Never Know, as well as accepted that I'm no longer editing it, I'm rewriting huge parts.

Current Goals: Jan 16-17
- I'll just do my best to focus on Boy Cried Wolf and see what happens.
