Let's face it...
There's something about good ol' pen (or pencil) and paper that draws out the creativity in many people. A large number of famous authors pen their first drafts by hand (Neil Gaiman, Joyce Carol Oates, and J.K. Rowling for example) only to edit and rewrite when transcribing onto the computer. It lends a certain freedom to the creativity to sit down with a nice notebook and a pen and let the words flow. So why not bring that over here, to our group of writers? For this challenge, we're going to count by page instead of word count. You can, of course, add the word count to your yearly total, but it'll be easier to do pages for this challenge. (To add to your yearly count, I suggest: count how many words are a single page of your handwritten novel, three times. Average those three totals together. Whatever that average is, that will be your general words per page and then you can multiply by how many pages you've written!) If you're interested in exploring a different method of writing... sign up below! EDIT: To clarify, one page is one side of a sheet of paper. So if you are writing on front and back, that's two pages per sheet. Of course, if you'd rather count front and back as one "page," you are free to always write more!
Short Story (5 - 25 pages)
Novella (25 - 50 pages) Novel (50 - 100 pages) Epic (100 pages +)
