As many people on the discord can attest, I talk about my exercising/training probably way too often But I know there are a few of us who want to get outside, get moving, and just get feeling better this year! So if you're down to talk about fitness (and by this, I don't necessarily mean diets or losing weight!), come on in.
In 2023, I got my certification in personal training and running coaching, got back to a running and strength routine, and signed up to start an MS in Exercise Science in the summer of 2024. I'm primarily interested in how exercise affects the immune system (to mix with my day job) and maybe to start doing some casual personal training for fun. I wrote up some running plans for friends of mine and they're doing awesome, getting personal records, and overall feeling great!
As for personal goals, I'm going to do a triathlon in the summer again, probably in June or July. And I want to do a marathon by October. So fitting in training with kids and writing is going to be my struggle this year!
I'm also doing a challenge with Helen (that I will let her talk about!) that will aim to walk/run 1000 miles this year! Still figuring out how I want to track/reward that.
So what are you all up to? What do you want to try? What motivation do you need? Because, believe me, I'm here to cheer!
