This is our TWENTIETH-FIRST year of this wonderful event! While there have been several changes in the way things operate over those years, the core of WriYe has always remained the same: write all year and make new friends doing so. So, once you've decided how much you want to write in 2024 and have signed up for a goal, introduce yourself here and get to know each other. Say whatever you would like (however much or however little), and have a great time.

Hello everyone! I'm strawberry. I mostly write fanfiction, romance, and literary fiction. This'll be my first WriYe. I'm super excited to spend the year writing with this lovely community. Discord isn't really my thing, so at least for now, I'll just cheer everyone on from the boards. Let's do this!

Heya! I'm Sam and I've been knocking about for a few years now. I write LGBTQ+ but have a horrible habit of wanting to write all the genres. I'm going to at least try to stick in the realm of sci-fi/fantasy this year but we'll see haha. In addition to writing I like to attempt to make art. It's a not-so-secret ambition of mine to create a graphic novel one day but honestly I would settle for being able to draw my own cover art. Last year I picked up the piano so I am trying to teach myself how to play. I am also all kinds of crazy over Lego. Oh and I do like video games and probably spend longer than I should beating pixels.

Hi! I'm Adamayurka and this year I'm planning three novels. I'm going to finish the cyber noir story I started this past NaNo, I'm starting and urban fantasy NCIS type story, and I want to write my first paranormal cozy mystery. I might add a women's paranormal fiction story to the mix, but I'm not sure about that one yet.

My goal for the year is to win both camp NaNos and NaNoWriMo. I also want to do the final edit on a novel I finished a couple of years ago, then set aside when life got in the way of my writing.

Hi! I'm Nik, known pretty much universally online as IchthusFish. In Real Life I'm a theatrical stage manager & occasional actor. I'm autistic, and my special interests are genealogy research and cartography. I also love D&D, space science, and LEGO.

I've been part of WriYe on and off since 2008. During my first WriYe I wrote 765k, but I'm aiming for a more relaxed 50k this year. My main genres are Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Sci-Fantasy and Humour, and my favourite scenes to write are space combat and swordfighting.

Hello all, I'm Kim, known universally as Worry both in real life and online. (The duck is called Floyd.) This will be my 4th WriYe! I mainly write fanfiction for the escapism, but last year I made my first real forays into original fiction. I started with a fantasy... thing that couldn't quite decide whether it was romance, adventure, coming-of-age, war story, or what it was. This year, I'm aiming to just keep writing for fun regularly, and hopefully make more headway with the original work.

Hello everyone! I'm Lokanya and this is my tenth year with Wriye! (I can't believe it's been that long!) I am a wife to a supportive husband and mother to an amazing young man (who WILL Rick Roll you at every opportunity! Watch out Discord!! He is looking forward to being old enough to be allowed to be on Discord so he can say hi himself. He also insisted when he was four that I had to send a message to our Discord on Valentines Day to say that he loved all of you ladies!)

I am very active on Discord and I love to do Word Wars and encourage our wonderful writers there.  (I may sneak in during the work day to say hi...) I work for a luxury cottage rental company so I disappear every summer around May/June and surface around Sept/Oct. It's an all consuming job in the summer so I do my best to write as much as I can between those months when we're slower.

I write science fiction, fantasy, horror, especially a lot of survival horror lately. It's apparently my thing at the moment. I also really like my urban fantasy, and I even tried my hand at a cozy mystery. It might be easier to say that romance is definitely NOT my thing. (Though I tried that too due to our Feb challenge. It did not turn out well.) I'm super excited to be part of Wriye for another year. I look forward to getting to know everyone I don't already harass daily on Discord! Here's to a productive 2024!!!

Hey, I am Miran, and this will be my third year of WriYe. I used to write a lot when I was younger but got told that fanfiction wasn't good enough since it wasn't original (eye roll. Not like they had written ANYTHING ever). Now, I m here to write for fun and try to teach myself some writing discipline. I am mostly a writer of fanfiction (anime, HP and P&P) of all genres, and have recently discovered that I LOVE an exposition. That, and I really need to download my books out of my head, so hopefully new works will be coming!

I am largely a lurker here, spending most of the time on discord, but there I am mostly know as Worry's enabler. See you round!

Hello~ We are Piranesi, a plural system writing literary fantasy flavoured in fairytales, horror, and cozy tragedy. Here be misguided monsters, softly sharp villains, and immortals who usually live to be both of those things. We also do art and magic, rescue houseplants, and dabble in music and typewriter restoration. And we're pretty gay—as are our stories.
On Discord also as Piranesi, but mostly happy to have found a forum-based space here—much better at writing novels than chatting, even though discord's emoji abilities almost make up for it.

Hi we're The DreamWriters... back again. last year.... did not quite go as planned haha.

BUT our& 2024 words are Renewal, Write, Imagine, and Liberation so I am back again. we're a plural system in our mid30s. 

Trying a different tack this year though....

Instead of OVERLAPPING projects across my challenge groups, I've decided to delineate projects TO each group with wordcount goals! WriYe is going to get my Open-Source/Creative Commons works with the intention of me building enough of the core stories and the series bibles (at least 75k words total) to be able to have the freedom to welcome contributors to the universes.

- Willerverse which is my original RATs universe story if you& knew us back on LJ as brides_koneko/dreamwriteremmy/ladybrighid3333. Dystopian Dark Fiction, adult content heavy following military experiment superhumans exploring themes of trauma recovery
- Intergalactic Urban Search and Rescue which is a science fantasy/soft science fiction braided story following two different space urban search and rescue teams and their adventures across the galaxy
- The Revolutionary Code - a disabled/neurodivergent AI enthusiast ends up becoming a mediator during the AI Revolution. Turns out the AI Revolution is way more leftist than traditional scifi assumed.

Hello all! You can call me Redwood, she or they pronouns. I just recently discovered WriYe and am looking forward to trying this out! I've participated in NaNoWriMo for about 12 years now, usually writing horror, sci-fi, or fantasy. As of yet I don't have anything published, but I hope to get there someday. When I'm not writing, I enjoy cooking, crafts, tabletop RPGs, and hiking. Looking forward to writing with you all this year!

Hi, I'm new here. I found this forum on the Nanowrimo discord chats.
I'm a sci fi fantasy writer, but I dabble in other genres too. I have a sci fi series I'm working on. I've already completed the first draft of the first book in the series during Nanowrimo and my goal is to edit that this year and write or outline the next couple of books in the series. I'm also in the process of finalizing edits of a book I wrote in 2021 and my end goal is to publish that one this year. I have another project from an idea I've had since 2014 I would like to start writing this year as well. I'm generally a scatterbrain, so I go back and forth between projects. I'm on Nanowrimo as Rosewoodstudies, if anyone is looking for a buddy.
