Hello and welcome, to my fantasy land, where dragons roam, knights do heroic deeds and crowns are usurped. This is my third year doing WriYe, and the first year I hope to actually finish it. 2023 was somewhat of a strange year in real life, I went from living with my parents to seeing a mortgage advisor and buying a house within two weeks. I then moved into said house after lots of paperwork and had some renovations done to the bathroom and kitchen. I also moved jobs twice, within the same company so, yeah, very strange year where I did not get much writing done.

2. Complete NaNoWriMo this year

3. Write two full length novels

4. Write at least 100 words a day (I've already failed this)

1. Start a new book once a month

2. Stop reading fanfiction, read actual books

3. Read 20 Novels by the end of 2024

1. Build all my Lego models before buying any new ones

2. Finish renovating the house (Carpets and Garden)

3. Set up my Lego Cave (shed)

4. Start creating Lego stories

5. Pick up my camera once again, instead of using the phone

Love the theme! It sounds like a lot did happen last year, and good luck this year! (If you're having trouble with the writing every day goal, you could select a days per week goal instead, or even just a weekly goal--like, write 300 words three times a week, or write 700 words a week--and then you have a little more flexibility and don't feel like you've failed already)

Writing everyday is a good aim but life happens. I agree with Kandy. I don't know how you are but if I feel like I have failed, then I am just like "whelp might as well give up" and it demotivates me to continue. So reframe it maybe somehow. Good luck!

Wow... just wow! I wish I had the focus to only work on two novels a year. I have LOTS more than that under construction any given year. Look for my post about where to find my work list for Wriye and NaNoWriMo, and you'll understand, I think.

But I wish you all the luck you need, for your goals are reachable.

However, I have to agree with Kandy about rearranging how you see how many words you write each day. Your goal doesn't have to be a burden, simply because you missed a day--or two.

Personally, I look at my writing time as something fun that I GET to do, not something I HAVE to do each day, sometimes to the exclusion of things around the house which are just as important.
